Eligibility and how to apply

Eligible candidates have, or are expected to have by the start of the Scheme:  

  

1. A qualification at SCQF level 10: For example, have attained, or are expecting to attain, a degree or other qualification that provides eligibility to post-graduate study at Masters level.

2. A legal right to work: All candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK for the entire duration of the Management Training Scheme (MTS). It is candidate's responsibility to ensure their eligibility. Candidates will need to have the appropriate right to work, to be able to accept any offer of employment. Additionally, it is essential for candidates to promptly inform NHS Education for Scotland (NES) of any changes to their immigration status after submitting their application.   

3. Sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa: In very exceptional circumstances, NES may offer sponsorship to help candidates apply for a Skilled Worker visa. The availability of sponsorship depends on individual circumstances and eligibility. Those who will require a Skilled Worker visa are asked to ensure they check the eligibility criteria with the Home Office before making an application. Due to the nature of the role, all trainees must be based within Scotland and must be able to travel throughout Scotland as a part of the role. It is the candidates responsibility to re-locate where applicable.

To apply, please complete the following steps:  

  

1. Complete and submit an online application form via apply button. You can save the draft, and access the application form to continue editing. Once the application has been submitted, it cannot be edited.  

  

Those applying online for the first time to any of the NHS Scotland Boards, will be asked to create an account. Please make sure the email address submitted is correct as this will be the primary method of contact.  

  

2. Complete and submit the online psychometric assessments, including the verbal and numerical reasoning assessments within one week. You will receive an email providing you with a link to access the online assessments.

  

It is the candidate's responsibility to submit the online application and assessments by the closing time.
